PSF-EX 1 to 2 kN
PSF-M-EX up to 10 kN
Integrated Positioner
IP65, optional IP67
Distinguishing Between Mechanical Safety and Explosion Protection (Ex)
The PSF-EX returns to its fail-safe position via spring-return action upon loss of power. The PSF-M-EX utilizes a handwheel and does not feature this spring-return capability. Explosion-proof ratings must be verified independently for the specific model and on-site operating conditions.
PSF-EX Recall
Rising stem (RS) or non-rising stem (NRS) design depending on the configuration.
PSF-M-EX Handwheel
Manual override available without opening the housing.
Integrated Control
Positioner, analogue feedback, and auto-commissioning.
Local Readout
An indicator light allows for clear visual monitoring of the enclosure's status.
Selecting Operating Force and Function
The PSF-M410-EX achieves 10 kN with manual override. This rating does not apply to spring-return configurations.
SPRING RETURN
PSF-401-EX / PSF-402-EX
Base models engineered with mechanical spring return and integrated positioner.
Load
1 or 2 kN
Stroke
5 to 40 mm
Motorized Operating Speed
0.3 mm/s
Safety
Rising or Non-Rising Stem (OS&Y or NRS)
High-speed models PSF-402.1-EX and PSF-402.2-EX are also fully documented.
MANUAL OVERRIDE
PSF-M401/402/405-EX
Three thrust ratings available with selectable operating speed.
Stresses
1 / 2 / 5 kN
Stroke 401/402
5 to 40 mm
Stroke 405
Up to 50 mm
Speeds
0.5 / 0.75 / 1 mm/s
These models feature handwheel operation without a mechanical spring return.
SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE
PSF-M410-EX
10 kN version engineered for high-thrust valve applications.
Load
10 kN
Maximum Stroke
50 mm
Speeds
0.17 / 0.25 / 0.33 mm/s
Manual override
Handwheel
Verify the allowable load during travel and the mechanical linkage.
Configure your explosion-proof selection with VAMECA
We cross-reference your valve data, site classification, and manufacturer documentation. You receive a proposal outlining the configuration, installation validation points, and applicable lead time.
Valves and Safety
Thrust and Stroke
Define the operating thrust, seating thrust, and stroke length.
Assembly
Inspect bracket, stem connection, overall clearance, and orientation.
Safety Status
Align the stem travel direction with the expected actual valve position.
Ordering and Classification
Power and Signal
24 V AC/DC or 100–240 V single-phase AC, analog control and feedback.
Classification and Marking
Specify area classification, gas or dust group, and temperature class.
Ambient Temperature
Verify the marking limits, specifically T6 at +40°C or T4 at +60°C.
Share your nameplate details, mounting configuration, and site specifications. Our technical specialists will assist with your selection and confirm local availability for the exact Ex-rated version required.
Review Complete Configuration
The documentation package must match the delivered part number and specific operating conditions.
Marking and Operating Conditions
The data sheets cite TPS 22 ATEX 110398 0002 X and IECEx TPS 22.0019X. Please review the applicable documents and their specific operating conditions.
Site Acceptance
ATEX or IECEx certification alone does not constitute Canadian approval. Compliance validation applies to both the equipment and its installation.
Protection and Diagnostics
IP67 protection and the PSF diagnostic kit—complete with software and USB cable—are available depending on your configuration.
