Linear actuation, precisely configured to your valve specifications

PSL is PS Automation's standard series of linear electric actuators. It is designed for globe valves, control valves, and other linear-stem mechanisms where thrust, stroke, and mounting interfaces align. Modulating control requires a compatible positioner. Advanced PS-AMS diagnostic and configuration functions are available in a separate product line.

01

01

Optimized Operating Force

The selection depends on the seating torque and the dynamic load across the full stroke.

02

02

Effective Stroke

Models accommodate maximum stroke lengths of 50, 65, or 95 mm, depending on the part number.

03

03

Customized Actuation Options

PSAP positioner, position feedback, and additional limit switches are optional features to be selected.

04

04

Manual Override

The manual override allows the actuator to be operated in accordance with model-specific procedures.

Compare PSL Models

The values below are specific to each product group. Maximum force does not reflect the continuous force available across the full stroke.

1 to 4.5 kN

PSL201 / 202 / 204

For short-stroke valves. Select the required thrust based on the valve specifications.

PSL201

1 kN / 50 mm

PSL202

2 kN / 50 mm

PSL204

4.5 kN / 50 mm

Protection Solutions

IP65 standard

The PSL204 technical data sheet specifies a maximum thrust of 4.5 kN and an operating thrust of 2.3 kN.

8 to 14 kN

PSL208 / 210 / 214

Superior operating thrust featuring stroke and protection variations across part numbers.

PSL208

8 kN / 50 mm

PSL210

10 kN / 50 mm

PSL214

14 kN / 65 mm

PSL208 / 210

Optional 65 mm

The PSL214 comes standard with IP67 protection, while the PSL208 and PSL210 are rated IP65 as standard.

20 to 30 kN

PSL320 / 325 / 330

Engineered for valves requiring long-stroke operation and high operating thrust.

PSL320

20 kN / 95 mm

PSL325

25 kN / 95 mm

PSL330

30 kN / 95 mm

THE VAMECA ADVANTAGE: DEDICATED TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Select the right PSL to seamlessly integrate with your valve

A replacement is never just about matching the torque or thrust rating on a nameplate. We thoroughly inspect the valve, stem connection, and actuator to engineer the right configuration, then verify immediate availability from our local inventory.

Mechanical Specifications

Operating Load

PSL technical datasheets specify an average allowable thrust over the full stroke of 50% of the maximum force. Be sure to also verify the seating thrust.

Stroke and Speed

Record the effective stroke in mm and the desired operating speed in mm/s. Operating speed varies based on motor selection, voltage, and frequency.

Valve Interface

Inspect the yoke rods, stem coupling, threading, overall dimensions, and manual override clearance.

Electrical Specifications and Service

Orders and Returns

Please specify three-point floating or modulating control. Note that the positioner and position transmitter are separate components.

Power Supply and Frequency

Please provide the voltage, AC or DC, frequency, and phase count. A 50 Hz specification does not automatically reflect performance at 60 Hz.

Service and Environment

Verify the duty cycle, operating cycles, ambient temperature, and IP rating of the part number. Media temperature primarily impacts the valve and its mounting assembly.

Start with a photo of the nameplate and any data you have on hand. Our team will work with you to clarify missing details, identify practical options, and confirm the lead time for the selected PSL.

Control and Signalling

Select only the options required for your control loop. Availability depends on the model and its electrical configuration.

CONTROL

Optional PSAP positioner

The analogue positioner requires a compatible potentiometer. The signal range and break detection depend on the PSAP version.

RETURN

Potentiometer or PSPT Transmitter

Resistive feedback and active feedback are not interchangeable. Please specify the signal input required by your PLC.

EQUIPMENT

Contact & Protection

Additional limit switches, an anti-condensation heater, or IP67 protection are available depending on the specific part number. Please note that spring-return functionality is not available on the standard PSL series.
