Detectable leakage between two seals

The NEOS features a double-seal plug design and a leakage chamber to reliably detect seal failure, distinguishing it from twin-independent plug valves like the VEOX. The diaphragm/PFA configuration is engineered specifically for clean-in-place (CIP) applications, while the EPDM or FKM elastomer options extend operational capability to media with high particulate loads, depending on process characteristics. An integrated micro-flush valve cleans the leakage chamber while the main valve remains closed. Proper valve selection must account for process media, CIP cycles, differential pressures, and leak detection monitoring.

01

01

Observable leakage

The leak detection port enables quick identification of seal failures and guides maintenance interventions.

02

02

Two distinct variants

PTFE diaphragm with a PFA floating seal or elastomeric sealing, each engineered with distinct operating limits.

03

03

Closed-valve flushing

A micro flush valve can supply cleaning fluid to the chamber without opening the main valve.

04

04

Integrated Control

The Sorio control unit can operate both the primary valve and micro-valves when paired with the appropriate pneumatic configuration.

CONFIGURATION & SELECTION

CONFIGURATION & SELECTION

Compare specifications before selecting

The NEOS diaphragm/PFA and the NEOS elastomer are engineered for different operating conditions. Their performance ratings are not interchangeable.

Sealing and Leak Detection

Diaphragm and PFA

The floating PFA seal and PTFE diaphragm should be evaluated for CIP systems and external atmospheric isolation.

Elastomer Version

EPDM or FKM seals are specifically recommended for media containing particulate matter, subject to process compatibility.

Indicator and Flushing

A leak indicator and a micro-flush valve serve distinct functions. The total number of solenoid valves depends on your specific system configuration.

Technical Reference Points

Materials and Dimensions

Body and shut-off components engineered in 316L stainless steel. Our current product lineup features SMS, DIN, and US standards, including US sizes ranging from 1 to 4 inches.

Diaphragm / PFA Operating Limits

The catalogue rates this product for up to 8 bar within a temperature range of 5 to 110 °C. The pressure-temperature rating must be confirmed for your specific application.

Elastomer Limits

The catalogue specifies ratings up to 6 bar and from 5 to 90 °C, depending on the seal selected. The differential pressure across the valve must remain below 1 bar. Always verify the pressure/temperature limits for your specific operating conditions.

Planning a replacement? VAMECA helps you determine the exact model, sealing solution, and sub-assemblies required. With just a part number and a few photos, our technical experts can initiate verification directly with DEFINOX.

OPERATION AND DOCUMENTATION

Schedule Leak Detection and Cleaning Services

An effective leakage chamber must be accessible, properly controlled, and integrated into the CIP cycle.

ORDER

Distinguishing Valve Functions

The main valve, leak indicator, and flush micro-valve require a tailored operating sequence. Please specify the existing control top and communication protocol.

CLEANING

Outline each phase

Please provide the temperature, duration, concentration, and pressure parameters for your CIP cycles. Note that peak sterilization limits should not be interpreted as continuous operating conditions.

REPLACEMENT

Identify Installed Variant

Photograph the nameplate, indicators, valve body, and end connections. The presence of a diaphragm and the seal material directly determine the required replacement parts.
