TEADIT NA1001

TEADIT NA1001 is a compressed sheet gasketing material made of aramid and synthetic fibres bonded with NBR nitrile rubber. It is engineered for general service in process facilities and water treatment systems, as well as for pump and valve applications.

Our Quebec facility manufactures custom-cut flat gaskets to your exact specifications. VAMECA can also evaluate the supply of this part number or engineer a suitable replacement.

Compressed Aramid Gasket Sheet

NA1001 belongs to the class of compressed non-asbestos materials. Aramid fibres and an elastomeric binder matrix partly account for its sealing properties. However, fluid media and bolt torque remain the governing factors in determining its suitability. A material technical data sheet does not eliminate the need to verify sheet thickness, creep relaxation, and thermal cycling resistance. Chemical compatibility with solvents or chemical compounds must be evaluated at actual working concentrations.

Interpreting Published Performance Ratings

Published catalogue maximum temperature and pressure limits do not represent universally admissible operating pairings. Continuous operating parameters, transient peak thresholds, and laboratory test conditions must be clearly distinguished. Cross-reference mechanical properties and manufacturer data for the specified thickness, without presuming guaranteed sealing performance on unfamiliar flange assemblies.

Alternatives and RFQ Preparation

An engineering assessment may begin with familiar compressed fibre grades, but must clearly detail the binder type, reinforcement structure, chemical limitations, and any required industry approvals. Technical inquiries should specify nominal pipe size, flange standard, facing finish, pressure, operating temperature, previous gasket material, and root cause for replacement. NA1001 data serves as the baseline for this technical verification.

Construction and Engineering Properties

TEADIT manufactures NA1001 via hot calendered processing, combining aramid and synthetic fibres bonded with NBR nitrile rubber. The manufacturer explicitly differentiates between continuous operating limits and maximum catalogue ratings. The latter cannot be combined arbitrarily under field conditions.

Applications and Material Replacement

For pump or valve service, record the process fluid, actual operating pressure and temperature, bolt loading conditions, and sheet thickness. NA1035 with an SBR binder and NA1076 with a neoprene (CR) binder feature different formulations: the mere presence of aramid fibres does not indicate functional equivalence.

To benchmark alternative constructions: TEADIT NA1002EU and TEADIT NA1005. A shared nitrile binder does not inherently ensure identical chemical resistance or equivalent bolt torque retention.

KEY COMPARISON CRITERIA

When comparing with other compressed sheet materials, be sure to maintain the distinction between NBR, SBR, and neoprene binders. Published continuous service limits for NA1001 differ from the maximum ratings listed in the catalogue; these must be carefully evaluated based on the specific media and assembly conditions.
