Commercial documentation from an identified European Flexitallic distributor describes an aramid fibre formulation with an NBR nitrile binder and compliance with BS 7531 Grade Y. At 1.5 mm, the physical properties published by the distributor include a density of 1.84 g/cm³, 7.5% compressibility, and 56% recovery. These require manufacturer confirmation prior to any contractual selection.

Applications and Limitations

Industrial utility service applications involving water, steam, oils, fuels, gases, and general chemicals. One distributor reports limits of 225°C and 51 bar, which must be considered indicative values not corroborated here by a recent original product datasheet.

Material Selection and Replacement Evaluation

While the aramid/NBR technology situates this grade among general-service utility sheets, it is not sufficient on its own to validate a replacement. The official datasheet applicable to the Canadian market and any necessary qualifications must be obtained. The specific process fluid, gasket thickness, flange specification, and bolt torque must be verified for actual operating conditions.
