LATTYgold 32

LATTYgold 32 is a calendered sheet manufactured from synthetic fibres bound with an NBR-SBR elastomer blend. Featuring an anti-stick coating on both faces, it delivers reliable sealing performance as a flat gasket engineered for mild, low-aggressiveness service fluids.

Our Quebec facility manufactures custom-cut flat gaskets to your exact specifications. VAMECA can also evaluate the supply of this part number or engineer a suitable replacement.

Applications and Key Features

LATTY identifies water, oils, and fuels among the mildly aggressive media suited for this material. The sheet is engineered for static sealing across industrial applications.

PART NUMBER ANALYSIS

To properly select or replace this material

LATTYgold 32: Formulation First

This material is a non-asbestos compressed sheet made with synthetic fibres and an elastomeric binder. The combination of fibres and binder directly influences fluid resistance, compressibility, and stress relaxation. Catalogue specifications should not be interpreted as blanket approvals. Chemical compatibility with the media and its specific concentration must always be verified. A sheet engineered for water or oil service is not automatically suitable for all solvents.

Why a Similar Part Number Is Not Enough

Two compressed sheets of similar appearance and thickness may incorporate different fibres and binder compounds. These variations significantly impact chemical resistance and sealing load retention. Any technical comparison must include mechanical data and the specific pressure/temperature curve for each grade. The ability to cut an identical gasket geometry does not constitute validation for substitution.

Before Ordering Custom Cut Gaskets

Record all dimensions, bolt hole patterns, flange standards, specified thickness, and existing part numbers. Include process media, operating pressure, and temperature, taking into account transient spikes or CIP/cleaning cycles. Confirm the technical properties of the selected sheet material and the available bolt load. A catalogue item with close specs may still be unsuitable for actual operating conditions.

Construction and Properties

The construction combines synthetic fibres with a dual NBR and SBR elastomer blend. This dual binder system is characteristic of LATTYgold 32. The sheet is also manufactured with an anti-stick finish on both faces to facilitate flange disassembly.

Applications and Replacement

The manufacturer data sheet specifies water, oils, and fuels in low-aggression services. When replacing an existing LATTYgold 32 gasket, specify the process media, material thickness, and exact product reference. The reinforced 32R version is also documented by LATTY, but must not be treated as automatically interchangeable.

To differentiate between binders and formulations: LATTYgold 32R and LATTYgold 92. The binders and fibres are not identical. Technical comparison is intended to highlight design differences, not to establish direct equivalence.

KEY COMPARISON CRITERIA

The formulation combines NBR and SBR; it must not be specified simply as an NBR-binder sheet. This distinction is a critical specification criterion to maintain when evaluating an alternative solution.
