Differentiating C-4400 from C-4408

While the series names are similar, KLINGERSIL C-4400 is a compressed sheet material that lacks this wire reinforcement. Mechanical properties, compressibility, and required bolt loads will vary. The presence of a reinforcement mesh also impacts cutting capabilities and tooling requirements. Verify product availability and standard commercial thicknesses against current manufacturer documentation.

Key Parameters to Document

Document operating pressure, temperature, media, thermal cycling, and flange standards, while also detailing the reinforcement type, thickness, bolt-hole count, gasket geometry, and bolting availability. A data sheet confirming an aramid/NBR material composition is not sufficient on its own to qualify a direct replacement for a steel-reinforced sheet.
