Construction and Material Characteristics

The absence of reinforcement makes the sheet handle and cut distinctly different, particularly for narrow geometries. The graphite remains susceptible to oxidizing conditions.

Selecting a Replacement Reference

For large dimensions or thin gaskets, evaluate the benefits of a reinforced grade. Document the operating atmosphere and bolt-load requirements.

To compare constructions: Durlon FGS95 and Garlock GRAPH-LOCK 3123. Graphite purity, proprietary treatments, and operational limits in oxidizing atmospheres are critical selection criteria.
